St Joseph’s Church Hall is normally available for hire from 08:00 to 23:00 daily. All hirings include free use of the St Joseph’s Car Park, which is immediately outside the Hall (All vehicles are left at the owners risk in the Car Park).

All keys loaned to hirers must be signed for. Arrangements for the collection and return of keys should be made with the Booking Secretary.

Access to the hired area(s) will normally be available 15 minutes before the start of the hire. The premises are to be vacated within 15 minutes of the end of the hire.

Rates per hour will be applied pro-rata per half hour to the next complete period of half an hour.

A deposit of 25% of the hire charge is to be paid on submission of a completed Booking Form. (If the booking is made less than one month before the date of the event, the full amount must be paid.) This deposit may be retained by St Joseph’s if the hirer gives less than one month’s notice of cancellation.

The balance of the hire charge must be paid at least one month before the date of the event. The booking may be cancelled if this payment is not received on time. (See also para 8 below.)

Users are responsible for ensuring that, before leaving the premises, all chairs and tables are returned to their designated positions (if in doubt, leave as found), all areas used are clean and tidy, all taps are turned off (our water is metered), all lights are switched off, and all doors and windows are closed and secured.

Users are responsible for any damage caused to the premises, furniture, furnishings or equipment during or as a result of the period of hire. This includes any damage to floor surfaces caused by inappropriate footwear. (e.g. Stiletto or Kitten heels – ‘Heel Stoppers’ are available online.) A refundable deposit of £100.00 (in addition to the hire charge) is to be lodged with the Booking Secretary at least one month before the event. This money will be returned to the hirer within one month after the event provided the premises have been left in a satisfactory condition.

All monies paid, including refundable deposits, will be banked in St Joseph’s current account. Any refunds will be made by means of a cheque drawn on this account

For events open to the general public, and also for events where people are charged a fee to attend, the hirer is required provide a copy of their current Public Liability Insurance Certificate prior to the event. Other hirers are strongly advised to take out Public Liability Insurance to cover possible claims for negligence arising out of the event.

The Hall does not hold a TV licence. Live TV reception on mains powered devices is not permitted.

Smoking is not permitted in any part of the building.

St Joseph’s Church reserves the right to refuse or cancel any booking. A full refund will normally be made if this proves necessary.
